MALIBU, Calif. – In a defensive battle, Pepperdine was able to muster a bit more offense than the Pacific men's basketball program in a 60-44 decision Saturday at Firestone Fieldhouse.
Pacific (6-17, 1-8 WCC) was able to hold Pepperdine (8-13, 2-6 WCC) to a .333 field goal percentage, but in return, the Waves limited the Tigers to a .280 mark. Pacific outrebounded Pepperdine 40-38.
Junior
Elijah Fisher recorded 19 points and seven rebounds to pace the Tigers. He continued to work his way to the free throw line where he was 7-of-10 in the game. Fisher entered the night ranked ninth in the country in free throw attempts and 14th in free throws made. He has scored in double-figures in 22 of 23 games this season.
Nearing a double-double was junior
Lamar Washington with 11 points and eight rebounds. He was 4-of-4 from the charity stripe.
The Waves garnered a double-double from Stefan Todorovic with 14 points and 10 rebounds.
The Tigers are now 43-39 all-time against Pepperdine.
Pacific returns home Thursday to host Washington State at 7 p.m. at the Alex G. Spanos Center. The Tigers won the first meeting 95-94 in overtime on the road this year.
