STOCKTON, Calif. – The Golden Coast Conference announced its 2025 Preseason Coaches Poll and the Pacific women's water polo program was predicted to finish third.
It comes after the Tigers finished third in the 2024 standings. Pacific was 16-11 overall and 4-3 in conference.
Additionally, the Tigers are ranked No. 19 in the nation in the preseason Collegiate Water Polo Association Top-25. They are the third highest team in the GCC behind No. 9 Fresno State and No. 10 LMU, who were picked first and second in the league, respectively.
The Tigers return three All-Conference selections in junior
Dora Alaksza, senior
Hila Futorian and sophomore
Maja Lizy Dulic. Alaksza was also a 2024 All-America Honorable Mention after leading the team with 93 goals and 185 shots in 27 games.
Pacific will compete for the first time this season Sunday when it travels to Fresno for a 9 a.m. exhibition match against No. 14 Michigan. The Tigers were originally scheduled to face defending national champion and No. 1-ranked UCLA in an exhibition, but the Bruins pulled out due to the wildfires in greater Los Angeles.
