Women’s Soccer Faces Weber State, No. 11 Utah State in Utah Road Trip

OGDEN, Utah - The Pacific women's soccer team embarks on a two-game road trip in the Beehive State, facing Weber State at 6 p.m. PT on Thursday at Wildcat Soccer Field and No. 11 Utah State at 12 p.m. PT on Sunday at Chuck & Gloria Bell Soccer Field.

The Tigers (1-4) hit the road for the second time this season after playing three straight games at Knoles Field over the last two weeks.

"Our group is looking forward to going on the road to Utah for a few days," co-head coach J.J. Wozniak said. "Our players are aware of the challenges that await in both matches, but we are solely focused on ourselves and taking things one day at a time, one match at a time to compete and play at a high level."

Junior Alexis Pashales leads the Tigers with two goals, four points and seven shots in five games. Pashales' pair of goals are tied for the sixth most in the West Coast Conference.

Graduate student Taylor Curtis has been a catalyst offensively for Pacific with a goal on three shots on goal. Curtis scored the Tigers' game-winner in a 2-1 season-opening victory over Houston Christian.

Sophomore Libby Davy has started all five games in net for the Tigers, totaling 24 saves. Her 4.80 saves per game rank first in the WCC.

Weber State (0-4-2) has played four games in a row on the road after opening the season at home with a 1-1 tie against Utah Tech. In their most recent contest, the Wildcats dropped a 7-1 decision against Utah in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Utah State (5-0) has won five straight contests to begin its 2024 season, featuring a 2-1 road victory over No. 16 BYU in Provo, Utah. Tess Werts leads the Aggies' offense with four goals and ten points, which paces the Mountain West leaderboards.

Pacific and Weber State meet for the sixth time since 1997. The Tigers hold a 4-1 lead, winning three straight games and owning a 2-0 road record in the series history. The two programs most recently clashed during the 2022 season in Stockton, California with the Tigers claiming a 2-1 victory.

Pacific and Utah State cross paths for the tenth time in a series going back to 1996. The two programs go head-to-head for the first time since 2004 where the Tigers and Aggies settled for a 0-0 tie at Knoles Field. Pacific is 2-3 all-time on the road at Utah State.

Both games will be streamed with Thursday's game on ESPN+ and Sunday's game on the Mountain West Network.
