SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – The last 85 minutes were deadlocked, but the Pacific men's soccer program fell behind in the opening five minutes of the West Coast Conference opener Sunday in a 2-0 decision to San Francisco at Negoesco Stadium.
The Tigers (2-4-2, 0-1 WCC) conceded a pair of early goals to the Dons (2-5-2, 1-0 WCC), which were enough to hold up despite scoring chances for Pacific later in the game.
Freshman
Ezekiel Padilla recorded a shot on goal on two of Pacific's 11 attempts on the day. Eight other Tigers registered a shot attempt.
Senior
Joshua Moya drew the starting assignment in goal for the eighth time this season and tallied four saves. He was one of five Tigers to log all 90 minutes along with senior
Emmanuel Obiefuna, graduate student
Javier Chavez, junior
Luca Baltzer and junior
Jose Maria Barrera.
Pacific registered six of its eight corner kick opportunities in the second half. The Tigers nearly found the back of the net off the foot of Barrera late in the game, but his attempt went wide.
Sophomore

Elvin Maldonado played their first minutes of the season in the match.
Pacific will continue conference play on the road, heading north to face Oregon State at 7 p.m. Friday at Reser Stadium.
