Tigers Wrap-Up Non-Conference Slate at UC San Diego

LA JOLLA, Calif. – On the backend of a two-game road trip in Southern California, the Pacific women's soccer team will conclude its non-conference slate at UC San Diego Sunday at 2 p.m. at Triton Soccer Stadium.

The Tigers (1-7-1) go up against their third straight Big West opponent, facing the Tritons (2-5-2) in the final non-conference road matchup of the regular season for both teams.

"We feel fortunate to have one more non-conference match to play this Sunday," co-head coach J.J. Wozniak said. "Collectively, the group is prepared and ready to go. With WCC matches starting the following week, it's important that we go out and compete for the full 90 minutes and do all we can to earn a big road result."

Freshman Sierah McCallum and junior Alexis Pashales stand at the forefront of the Tigers' offense, tied for the team lead with three goals. McCallum, who has a shot on goal in six straight contests, paces Pacific with seven points and eight shots on goal.

Sophomore Libby Davy and freshman Sierra Schwarz have split time in goal with Schwarz starting the last three games for the Tigers. Schwarz leads Pacific with 31 saves in her three appearances this year.

On defense, junior Trianne Cooper and sophomore Faylinn Berkowitz have been staples with over 600 minutes across nine games. Cooper and Pashales are the only two Tigers, who have started every game this season.

The Tritons opened Big West play last Thursday, posting a scoreless draw against UC Irvine, who Pacific faced last week. UC San Diego is 1-2-1 at home with a 3-0 win over Nevada.

Pacific and UC San Diego have met twice since 2005. During the 2023 season, the Tigers and Tritons battled to a 4-4 draw in Pacific's home opener. In that contest, Pashales and junior Haley Johnson scored goals as part of the Tigers' highest-scoring game from non-conference play from last year.

The game will be broadcast live on ESPN+ with a 2 p.m. kick-off.
