Women’s Soccer Travels to Face UC Santa Barbara

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. – The Pacific women's soccer team hits the road for two straight games in Southern California, beginning with a match against UC Santa Barbara Sunday at 1 p.m. at Harder Stadium.

The Tigers (1-6-1) are on the road for the final portion of their non-conference slate, facing the Gauchos (1-3-4) tomorrow, followed by UC San Diego next weekend.

"We have scored some goals and are starting to find a better rhythm of late," co-head coach Danesha Adams said. "We are looking forward to getting another opportunity on Sunday. The group still believes, and we believe tomorrow is a good opportunity for us to get back on track."

Freshman Sierah McCallum has seen an uptick in offensive production, scoring in three straight contests and registering at least one shot on goal in five straight games. McCallum paces Pacific with seven points and seven shots on goal. The native of Henderson, Nevada is tied for the team lead in goals alongside junior Alexis Pashales with three.

McCallum and Pashales are tied for sixth in the West Coast Conference goals leaderboard. McCallum is tied for seventh in the conference leaderboard with her seven points.

Freshman Sierra Schwarz has started the last two games in net for Pacific, totaling 28 saves. Schwarz set a WCC record with a single-game 20-save performance in the effort defensively against Utah State last weekend.

The Gauchos enter the competition with a 3-0 home win against San Jose State to open the month of September. Since then, UCSB has gone 0-2-1, featuring a 1-0 loss at home to Omaha in their last contest. Devin Greer stands at the forefront of the Gauchos' offense with a team-high three goals, six points and seven shots on goal.

Pacific and UC Santa Barbara meet for the 26th time in the series history going back to 1995. The Tigers won the most recent matchup over the Gauchos, 3-1, in Stockton, California last season. Redshirt junior Ariana Gronauer and redshirt sophomore Mira Scarsella collected assists on two of Pacific's goals in that 3-1 victory.

The last two meetings in Santa Barbara, California have resulted in draws with a 1-1 score in 2022 and 2-2 score in 2017.

The game will be streamed live on ESPN+ with a 1 p.m. PT kick-off.
