STOCKTON, Calif. – Returning home from a two-game road trip in Utah, the Pacific women's soccer team will play UC Irvine in its last non-conference home match at 7 p.m. Thursday at Knoles Field.
The Tigers (1-5-1) and the Anteaters (1-4-2) both opened their 2024 campaigns with a season-opening victory. Pacific started the year with a 2-1 victory over Houston Christian where junior
Alexis Pashales and graduate student
Taylor Curtis scored the Tiger goals.
"It's nice to be back at home for our next match immediately following a lengthy road trip," co-head coach
J.J. Wozniak said. "We know our group will be up for the chance to play again and continue to pursue our next win this season."
Freshman
Sierah McCallum rides a two-game goal streak after recording her first career goal in the second half of a 1-1 draw at Weber State. McCallum is tied for the team lead in goals with Pashales. The native of Henderson, Nevada leads the Tigers with six shots on goal with four straight matches registering a shot on target.
Sophomore
Libby Davy has started the bulk of the games in goal for Pacific, totaling 28 saves. Freshman goalkeeper
Sierra Schwarz was called upon in the most recent game, making 20 saves in the effort against No. 11 Utah State.
UC Irvine enters this week's match in the midst of a three-game road trip after earning a draw against WCC member Washington State last Thursday. The Anteaters own a 1-2-1 road record with a 3-0 win at Saint Mary's to kick-off the season. Kaitlyn Paculba paces UCI with two goals and four points.
Pacific and UC Irvine meet for the 25th time in the series history going back to 1993. The Anteaters make their first trip to Stockton, California since the 2012 season.
The game will be streamed on ESPN+ with Dennis Ackerman on the call.
