Pacific Continues Homestand Thursday against New Mexico State

STOCKTON, Calif. - Playing its second of three consecutive home games, the Pacific women's soccer team hosts New Mexico State at 7 p.m. on Thursday at Knoles Field.

The Tigers (1-2) welcome the Aggies (3-0-1) for the first time to Stockton where the two teams will meet for just the third time in series history. Pacific will remain at home Sunday when it closes out the weekend against Cal Poly at 1 p.m.

"Hosting two more matches this weekend is something we are all looking forward to," Pacific co-head coach J.J. Wozniak said. "Every program out there is competing for results, so it will be another challenge on Thursday night and our group knows we have to be ready to compete from the opening whistle."

Graduate student Taylor Curtis and junior Alexis Pashales have the Tigers goals early on in the season, finding the back of the net in a 2-1 win over Houston Christian in the season opener.

Sophomore Libby Davy has started all three games in net for the Tigers, totaling 11 saves.

Led by seventh-year head coach Rob Baarts, New Mexico State began its season with a 2-2 tie against a ranked USC squad, followed by three straight wins at home. Thursday's match marks the Aggies' first road contest of the 2024 season.

Pacific and New Mexico State crossed paths last year in Las Cruces, New Mexico where the Aggies claimed a 3-1 victory. In that contest, Davy collected four saves in the effort defensively. Pashales also recorded a shot on goal.

In the only other meeting between the two programs, the Tigers earned a 2-1 road victory during the 2018 season.

The game will be streamed on ESPN+ with Dennis Ackerman on the call.
