Men’s Soccer Kicks Off 2024 Season Against UC Davis

STOCKTON, Calif. - The Pacific men's soccer team kicks off the 2024 season against UC Davis on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. at Knoles Field.

"The preseason has been incredibly productive, integrating our new pieces and continuing to build with the returners" said Pacific head coach Adam Reeves, who enters his sixth season at the helm. "This program relies on the older players, passing on their knowledge of the program and how we do things is incredibly important. We will be tested straight away with a good UC Davis team, and I am excited to put our group out on Knoles Field tomorrow night."

The Tigers look to build off of their 5-8-4 campaign from a season ago in which Pacific went 3-3-2 at home.

Last season, the Tigers won their home opener against UC Riverside by a 1-0 score.

UC Davis was selected to finish fourth in the 2024 Big West preseason coaches poll. Aggies' forward Cason Goodman has earned a spot on the 2024 Big West preseason coaches team. Goodman is one of only two returning Aggie players to start all 20 matches in 2023, a year in which he earned All-Big West Second Team honors after leading UC Davis with seven goals. UC Davis is coming off a nine-win season and an appearance in the Big West Championship final last year.

Picked eighth in the 2024 West Coast preseason coaches poll, Pacific will look to find a spark offensively from fifth year forward Vinzent Zingel, who scored one goal and four points last season.

Senior Joshua Moya returns as the team's main goalkeeper from 2023, playing over 1,200 minutes and making 76 saves in 14 games.

The Tigers own a 2-4 all-time record against the Aggies. The two teams met most recently last season where Pacific earned a 1-0 victory on the road. In that contest, senior Emmanuel Obiefuna scored the lone goal of the match.

The game will be streamed on ESPN+.
