7/12/2024 10:00:00 AM

STOCKTON, Calif.- The Pacific volleyball program unveiled its upcoming schedule for 2024, in preparation of its 49th season, by highlighting the new year through welcoming two new conference opponents to the fold.

Pacific punctuated its 2023 campaign with an 18-11 record overall and a fourth-place finish in the West Coast Conference, while making the National Invitational Volleyball Championship (NIVC) for the third-straight season.

The Tigers kick off 2024 with a non-conference schedule that is exclusively on the road. The four week stint features four new opponents and includes stops in Las Vegas, Charleston, Phoenix and Fresno.

Pacific travels to Las Vegas to start the year, opening with its first ever match against Iowa State on August 30. The Tigers wrap up the weekend with matches against Northwestern on August 31 and host UNLV on September 1.

The following week, Pacific heads out east for a weekend tournament in Charleston. The Tigers encounter Yale for the first time since 2006, while meeting South Carolina-Upstate for the first time on September 6. Pacific concludes the trip with its first ever match against tournament host College of Charleston.

Making their rounds through the desert this year, the Tigers head to the GCU Classic in Phoenix. Over the three-day weekend, Pacific faces off against Butler, Portland State and host Grand Canyon. It's the first ever meeting between the Tigers and Antelopes, a matchup that comes on the heels of the WCC's announcement of Grand Canyon's membership starting in 2025.

The Tigers round out the non-conference slate at the Central Cal Challenge as Fresno State hosts Pacific, CSU Bakersfield and Sacramento State the weekend of September 20-22. A year prior, the Tigers went 3-0 against all three opponents at the Central Cal Challenge in Stockton.

A trip to Southern California highlights the Tigers 2024 WCC debut as Pacific heads to LMU and Pepperdine the last weekend of September. The Tigers remain in SoCal for a match against San Diego the first week of October before debuting for their first home match of the season against Santa Clara on October 5.

WCC newcomer Washington State heads to the Alex G. Spanos Center on October 10 before the Tigers host Gonzaga for their Homecoming match on October 12. It's the first conference match between the Cougars and the Tigers, but the fifth overall meeting between the two programs. They last met in 2012 with the Tigers sweeping the Cougars in three-straight sets.

Pacific heads to the Bay Area the following weekend, battling both Santa Clara and San Francisco on the road before returning to host San Diego on October 24. The Tigers end the month at Portland for a road Halloween match.

The Tigers host San Francisco in Stockton the first weekend of November before traveling to the Pacific Northwest for road tilts with Washington State and Gonzaga.

Pacific hosts conference newcomer Oregon State on November 13 for their first match since 2017 before traveling to Moraga for a road matchup with Saint Mary's.

The Tigers wrap their conference schedule with three-straight matches in Stockton, starting with LMU on November 21. For the final weekend of November, the Tigers host both Pepperdine and Portland to close out the regular season.
