BRADENTON, Fla.- The No. 60 Pacific men's tennis team (19-6) wrapped up a historic season finishing as the UTR Sports NIT Championship's runner up after falling to No. 1 seed Tulsa 4-1.
The Tigers had to gear up for a comeback after the Hurricanes nabbed the doubles point with wins on courts one and two. Senior

Christof Schaertlin Coffey's doubles match went unfinished, though the duo was leading Tulsa 5-4 from court three.
After Tulsa struck first in singles from court three, the Tigers faced a 2-0 deficit. The Hurricanes grabbed four of the six first sets, while Rodeia and freshman
Tommy Czaplinski muscled out opening set singles victories for the Tigers. Rodeia ended up on top after a back-and-forth tiebreaker, downing Tulsa's Alex Okonkwo 7(8)-6(6). The senior's match would go unfinished after the Hurricane forced a third set.
The Hurricanes moved in for the potential sweep after clinching a match from court one to lead the Tigers 3-0, while sophomore
Tiago Silva forced a third set after taking his second set 6-3.
After opening his first set with a 6-2 victory from court six, Czaplinski found himself in a second set tiebreaker with Tulsa's Gus Tettamble. The freshman stood tall as he got the Tigers on the board, taking his match 6-2, 7(8)-6(6). Czaplinski finished the week 3-0 from court six.
Courts four and five went unfinished as the Tigers fell on court three.
Pacific rattled off a 8-1 start to the season, the best start for the program since 2001. The Tigers broke that record after piecing together a 14-match winning streak, going 15-1 overall through April. They made their first postseason appearance since 2004, while collecting 19 match wins to end the year. The previous highest in the past two decades was 17 match victories in 2003.
The Tigers, having spent the last three weeks nationally ranked, conclude the season as the No. 60 team in the country. They reached as high as No. 47 after defeating top-15 San Diego.
