SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, Calif.- Senior
Klara Kosan takes home her third straight All-WCC Singles Second Team honor, while her and doubles partner junior
Tomi Main were named to the All-WCC Doubles Second Team, as announced by the conference this afternoon.
"We are thrilled to see Klara and Tomi's hard work and accomplishments be recognized by the WCC," head coach
Mike Erwin said. "These awards are meaningful for our whole team and something we can continue to build on."
Kosan led the Tigers with an 11-6 singles record on the season, the second most overall wins by the captain in her tenure at Pacific. Playing exclusively on court one in 2024, Kosan's 11 wins are her most ever from the top of the line up. She notched three conference wins and earned WCC Singles Player of the Week twice this season. Alongside Main, the duo took home WCC Doubles Team of the Week with their win on the road against a ranked Stanford team.
"I am honored to be recognized within the conference for both singles and doubles," Kosan shared. "Playing with Tomi has been a pleasure and I am very excited for what we and the whole team can do in the tournament this weekend."
Together, Kosan and Main were 11-8 from court one as a doubles team. The duo strung together a seven match winning streak over a three week stretch, starting with a road win at UC San Diego through their home match doubles victory over Saint Mary's.
"It is a privilege to receive recognition from the WCC," Main added. "Throughout the year, our team has put in consistent hard work, making this acknowledgment truly meaningful. We are now more than excited to represent Pacific at the upcoming WCC tournament. Go Tigers!"
Both Kosan and Main were crucial pieces in elevating the Tigers to the most wins by a women's tennis team in almost two decades. Pacific finished the regular season with a 13-6 overall record, the most wins seen in that same time period.
Under Kosan's veteran leadership, Pacific locked up the No. 3 seed in the WCC Tournament, after being selected to finish eighth in the conference's preseason poll. The Tigers secured their most conference wins (4-2) since rejoining the WCC in 2013 and the groundbreaking season propelled Pacific to its first ever WCC tournament since rejoining the league.
