No. 21 Pacific Opens Home Slate Against No. 12 LMU

STOCKTON, Calif. – After being on the road for the first 17 games, No. 21 Pacific women's water polo is looking forward to hosting its home opener against No. 12 LMU for Family/Youth Day on Sunday at 11 a.m. at Chris Kjeldsen Pool.
 
Pacific (10-7, 0-1 GCC) will also be searching for its first Golden Coast Conference win of the season.
 
The Tigers are coming off a 19-4 road loss at No. 4 California on Friday. Sophomore Dora Alaksza extended her scoring streak with a team-high three goals.
 
Alaksza, a native of Budapest, Hungary, leads Pacific with 63 points on 56 goals and seven assists. She is currently the leader in total goals and goals per game (3.3) in the GCC.
 
Junior Hila Futorian is the second leading scorer with 45 points on 29 goals and 16 assists.
 
Freshman goalkeeper Maja Lizy Dulic has recorded eight wins and 117 saves in her first season in net for the Tigers. The Kecskemet, Hungary native is fourth in the conference in total saves and tied for fifth in stops per game (6.9).
 
Pacific holds a 14-11 advantage in the all-time series against LMU (17-2, 0-0 GCC). Last season, the Tigers lost to the Lions in the regular season 14-10 before rebounding with a 9-7 win in the GCC semifinals.
 
Ruth Arino Ruiz leads LMU with 81 points on 50 goals and 31 assists. She leads the league in points and is second behind Alaksza in goals.
 
Following the home opener, Pacific travels to Hayward to take on Cal State East Bay for the third time this season at 2 p.m. on Thursday.
