STOCKTON, Calif.- The Pacific women's tennis team collected its first home victory of the season, downing Nevada 4-0 at the Eve Zimmerman Tennis Center on Saturday afternoon.
The Tigers swiftly took control of the match, cruising past the Wolf Pack to nab the doubles point. Freshman
Indiya McLeod and junior
Liza Mladentseva teamed up for the first time this season and recorded their first win as a pair after defeating Nevada 6-2 from the three. Senior
Klara Kosan and junior
Tomi Main clinched the doubles point on court one after a 6-2 decision over the Pack.
Pacific made quick work over Nevada, with Kosan putting the Tigers up 2-0 after defeating Marlene Foerster 6-4, 6-2 from the one. Kosan is now 5-3 on the season playing on court one. Main followed suit with a 6-4, 6-1 win over Amahee Charrier from the two. After the win, Main is 2-0 on the weekend and improved to 4-3 on the year playing from the two.
McLeod clinched the match for the Tigers after a 6-3, 6-3 win from the five over Mia Miranda. She improved to 4-1 on the season and extended her singles winning streak to three after a 2-0 weekend at home.
The Tigers head out on the road, traveling to Hawai'i for two matches. They battle Illinois State in a neutral site match on Thursday, March 14 before taking on Hawai'i on Saturday, March 16.
Pacific returns home to host Northern Arizona on Friday, March 22 at the Eve Zimmerman Tennis Center to kick off a six match home stand.
