No. 21 Pacific Meets No. 4 California for Second Time This Season

STOCKTON, Calif. – No. 21 Pacific women's water polo faces No. 4 California for the second time this season at 1 p.m. on Friday at Spieker Aquatics Complex.
 
Pacific (10-6, 0-1 GCC) faced California (8-3, 0-0 MPSF) in its season opener at the Stanford Invitational on Feb. 3. The Tigers came up short against the Golden Bears by a score of 12-5. Sophomore Dora Alaksza led the way with three goals. Freshman goalkeeper Maja Lizy Dulic had five saves in net.
 
Alaksza is the leading scorer for Pacific with 59 points on 53 goals and six assists. The Budapest, Hungary native leads the Golden Coast Conference in goals and goals per game (3.3). Alaksza matched her career-high six goals for the third time against Mount Saint Mary's (Mar. 1) at the Pomona-Pitzer Convergence.
 
Junior Hila Futorian is second for the Tigers with 43 points on 28 goals and a team leading 15 assists. The Petah Tikva, Israel native matched her career-high six goals at UC Davis (Feb. 11) during the Aggie Invite.
 
Dulic has eight wins and 117 saves in her first season as the starting goalkeeper for Pacific. The Kecskemet, Hungary native made a season-high 14 stops in Pacific's victory over San Jose State (Feb. 17) at the Bronco Invitational.
 
Maryn Dempsey leads California in goals with 19. Goalkeeper Isabel Williams has registered 139 saves on the season.
 
Up next, Pacific will host its home opener against No. 12 LMU for Family/Youth Day at 11 a.m. on Sunday.
