Men's Tennis to Defend Home Court, Host Weber State

STOCKTON, Calif.- The Pacific men's tennis team returns to defend its perfect home record this week against Weber State on Wednesday, March 6 at 1 p.m. at the Eve Zimmerman Tennis Center.

After spending four days in Southern California, the Tigers host the Wildcats for the first time in their modern history as the two programs have yet to meet head-to-head on court.

Pacific is led behind its 19th ranked doubles team senior Peter Alam and junior Justas Trainauskas. The pair recently went 2-1 at the Pacific Coast Doubles Championship, advancing to the quarterfinals before falling to Pepperdine. In matches this season, the tandem are 5-1 playing from the one and 4-0 in the last four contests. Together the Tigers are 13-4 in doubles matches this season.

Leading in singles are Alam and sophomore Terence Das, who combine for a 10-0 singles record this season. Das has the longest unbeaten streak at six singles wins. He is 3-0 at home and hasn't lost a contest since the end of January.

Alam is unbeaten in six singles appearances. He has produced four wins so far this year and is 2-0 at home. Aiding them is senior Ran Amar, who has gone 4-1 this year and hasn't lost since the end of January.

The Tigers have opened up the year with one of their best records to date and are currently on a five match winning streak. They are 3-0 at home this season and will seek to defend home court against Weber State.
