STOCKTON, Calif. - The Pacific women's tennis team captured its ninth win of the year while emerging victorious in the series opener against Colorado State, downing the Rams 4-1 at home.
The Tigers cruised to the doubles point with wins on courts one and two. Senior
Klara Kosan and junior
Tomi Main stuck first from court one, striking down the Rams 6-3. The pair move to a 9-5 record from court one on the season. Junior
Alexis Sam and freshman
Milena Maiorova moved to 2-0 together, clinching the doubles point from court two with a 6-4 decision over Colorado State.
Kosan got the Tigers up 2-0 after defeating Zara Lennon 6-2, 6-3 on court one, while fellow senior
Zoe Clydesdale-Eberle got the 6-3, 6-4 win on court six. Kosan improved to 9-4 on the season from court one, while Clydesdale-Eberle extended her win streak to six straight. The Rams got one back on court five to avoid the shutout, while the remaining courts went to three sets.
Freshman
Indiya McLeod broke through for the Tigers to clinch the match from court four. After falling in her opening set, she rattled off back-to-back set wins to clinch the match 3-6, 6-3, 6-4. The freshman holds a 8-2 singles record on the season after winning her last two matches.
The Tigers return next weekend with two more home matches. They host CSUN on Saturday, April 6 before closing the weekend with CSU Fullerton on Sunday, April 7.
