STOCKTON, Calif. – Sophomore
Jake Tandy crushed his second home run of the season as the Pacific baseball team fell to Nevada, 7-2, on Tuesday night at Klein Family Field.
The Tigers (5-19, 1-2 West Coast Conference) fall to 4-7 at home while the Wolf Pack (11-11, 6-3 Mountain West) pick up their seventh win of the season on the road.
Tandy provided a spark on offense, launching a solo home run as part of a two-run inning.
Sophomore
Rylan Evans collected a two-hit night at the plate, but stood out for his defensive gems at third base.
Sophomore
Jacob Smith turned in a solid start on the mound, throwing 4.0 innings and allowing just two earned runs on five hits.
Nevada started the ball game with a two-run single in the top of the first inning to take a 2-0 lead.
Pacific was able to tie the score up in the bottom of the fourth inning that featured a long solo home run by Tandy.
Senior
Chase Graves doubled to center field and eventually scored on a balk in the frame to level the game up at 2-2.
The Wolf Pack retook the lead in the top of the sixth on a two-run home run to make the score 4-2 in favor of the visitors.
The Tigers had opportunities with runners on base in the late stages of the contest, but came up empty-handed as Nevada went on to win by a final score of 7-2.
Pacific returns to action at 6 pm on Thursday, opening its home conference slate against San Diego.
