STOCKTON, Calif. – Pacific women's basketball looks to keep its season alive as it heads to Minnesota for the Women's National Invitation Tournament second round at 5 p.m. PT/7 p.m. CT on Tuesday at Williams Arena.
The game will be televised on B1G+ with Kyra Schwanz and Andrew Cornelius on the call.
Students and staff are invited to attend the watch party in the Lair at 5 p.m.
Pacific (19-14) is making its third appearance in the second round of the WNIT and first since 2019. That year, the Tigers played Arizona in Tucson where it came up short by a score of 64-48. Pacific will look to make it back to the Super 16 for the first time since 2013.
Junior
Elizabeth Elliott is the Tigers' leader with 13.3 points and 5.6 rebounds per game. The Inglewood, Calif. native is second in the West Coast Conference and 14th in the country with a .597 field goal percentage. Elliott has notched four double doubles this season and currently has 10 in her career. She has been the leading scorer in 10 games and leading rebounder in 11.
Junior
Anaya James is second on the team with 12.1 points per game. The Inglewood, Calif. native is also Pacific's leader in assists with 5.9 per game. James is tied for first in the WCC and ranked 13th nationally in assists per game. She is also second in the league and 12th nationally with 194 total dishouts.
Senior
Liz Smith and graduate
Cecilia Holmberg are averaging 12.0 points per game, respectively. Smith is the Tigers' leader in free throws with 107 made. Her .843 percentage at the charity stripe is second in the conference and 60th in the country.
Senior
Kadie Deaton is notching 10.9 points per game while leading the Tigers with 1.8 steals per game. Deaton's steal average is third in the WCC.
Pacific will play Minnesota (16-15) for the first time in program history. The Tigers are 3-6 when facing Big Ten teams and will meet its first opponent from the league since 2010. The last time Pacific defeated a Big Ten team was in 1994 when it played Ohio State in the Kona Invitational. The Tigers notched the 74-67 win over the Buckeyes.
Minnesota makes its seventh appearance in the WNIT. Mara Braun leads the Gophers in scoring with 17.8 points per game.
NOTES
-Pacific is 16-2 when leading at the half and 14-7 when scoring 70 or more points.
-The Tigers are ranked in the top 100 in five statistical categories in the nation with its highest being 26th in assists per game (16.9).
- Three Tigers are nationally ranked statistically. Elliott is 14th in field goal percentage (.597). James' total assists (194) are 12th and her average (5.9) is 13th. Her assist/turnover ratio (2.04) is 58th. Smith is ranked 60th in free throw percentage (.843).

Bradley Davis returns Pacific to the second round of the WNIT for the second time in his tenure. The Tigers made the second round for the first time in 2012 back when Davis was an assistant.
