STOCKTON, Calif. – No. 20 Pacific women's water polo hits the road this week as it travels to take on No. 24 San Diego State at 1 p.m. on Saturday at Aztec Aquaplex.
Pacific (12-8, 1-2 GCC) looks to earn its second Golden Coast Conference win of the season after defeating Santa Clara, 12-6.
Sophomore
Dora Alaksza leads with 80 points on 68 goals and 12 assists along with 32 steals. The Budapest, Hungary native was named GCC Player of the Week after combining for 16 points on 11 goals and five assists in Pacific's last two victories. A member of the Cutino Award Watch List, Alaksza leads the conference in total goals and goals per game (3.4).
Junior
Hila Futorian is tallying a second best 55 points on 34 goals and 21 assists. Teammate
Addison McGowan is registering 28 points on 13 goals and 15 assists while freshman
Ella Cowan has 22 points on 10 goals and 12 assists.
Freshman goalkeeper
Maja Lizy Dulic has started in 16 games for the Tigers. The Kecskemet, Hungary native has notched 126 saves and 15 steals.
Pacific has won the last three meetings against San Diego State (11-11, 0-1 GCC). During the 2023 season, the Tigers came out with a 10-9 win over the Aztecs at Eberhardt Aquatics Center.
Claudia Valdes leads San Diego State with 77 points on 54 goals and 23 assists while recording 27 steals. Goalkeeper Tiaare Ahovelo has grabbed 121 saves in net for the Aztecs.
Following the road contest, Pacific returns to Eberhardt Aquatics Center to host California Baptist for Senior Day at noon on Saturday, Apr. 6.
