Pacific Faces Cal State East Bay for Third Meeting

STOCKTON, Calif. – No. 21 Pacific women's water polo looks to snap a three-game losing streak as it travels to face Cal State East Bay for the third time this season at 2 p.m. on Thursday at Pioneer Pool.
 
Pacific (10-8, 0-2 GCC) has defeated Cal State East Bay (8-9, 0-0 WWPA) in the first two meetings of the season. The Tigers won against the Pioneers 12-6 at the Stanford Invitational (Feb. 3) and 13-8 at the Aggie Invite (Feb. 10).
 
Pacific is currently on a nine-game winning streak against Cal State East Bay.
 
Last game, the Tigers dropped their home opener against No. 13 LMU by a score of 10-5. Five Pacific players each notched a goal in the contest.
 
Sophomore Dora Alaksza is the Tigers' leader scorer with 64 points on 57 goals and seven assists along with 27 steals. The Budapest, Hungary native leads the Golden Coast Conference in total goals and goals per game (3.2). Alaksza has scored one or more goals in every game since the start of the season.
 
In second is junior Hila Futorian who is registering 47 points on 29 goals and 18 assists. The Petah Tikva, Israel native has scored in 13 games this season.
 
Freshman goalkeeper Maja Lizy Dulic has collected 126 saves while notching eight wins in net. The Kecskemet, Hungary native is tied for fourth in total saves.
 
Cal State East Bay is coming off a 23-2 win against UC Merced on Friday. The Pioneers are led in scoring by Elise Whitworth. She has scored 40 points on 26 goals and 14 assists. Goalkeeper Daniela Passoni has registered 104 saves, 10 steals and six assists.
 
Following the road contest, Pacific will look for its first GCC win of the season as it hosts Santa Clara at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday.
