Pacific to Stripe Out Spanos Center on ESPN2 against Saint Mary’s

STOCKTON, Calif. – Going up against the first-place team in the West Coast Conference standings, the Pacific men's basketball program will host Saint Mary's in a nationally televised game on ESPN2 at 8 p.m. Tuesday.
 
Pacific (6-18, 0-9 WCC) will Stripe Out the Alex G. Spanos Center. Fans are encouraged to wear black or orange based on their seat in the arena.

The Tigers will look to bounce back from a tough 79-73 defeat to San Francisco on Saturday. Junior Cam Denson poured in a career-high 22 points and was 8-of-9 from the free throw line. Senior Lesown Hallums, Jr. was also a big contributor with 18 points and a 6-of-8 mark from the floor.
 
Sophomore Moe Odum leads West Coast Conference in assist:turnover ratio (2.5) and is second in assists (4.8 apg). With 19 points and 10 assists in the WCC opener against San Francisco, he became the first student-athlete at Pacific to submit a double-double in points and assists since Pierre Crockrell II posted 10 points and 10 assists against Portland on Feb. 13, 2020.
 
Senior Judson Martindale leads the team in scoring with 10.3 points per game. He shoots .404 from three-point range and has nailed a team-high 36 threes on the year. Martindale registered a 19-point performance last week against Portland where he was 4-of-7 from beyond-the-arc.
 
In conference games, senior Donovan Williams averages team-highs of 11.1 points and 5.1 rebounds per game. He's scored in double-figures in six of eight WCC games. Williams missed Pacific's last game against USF on Saturday due to injury.
 
Pacific is looking to hand Saint Mary's (18-6, 9-0 WCC) its first conference loss of the season. The Gaels are on a 10-game winning-streak and are coming off a big road win 64-62 at Gonzaga.
 
Saint Mary's ranks third in the nation in scoring defense (58.5 ppg) and fourth in rebounding margin (+11.0). Mitchell Saxen is seventh in the country in offensive rebounds per game (4.1) and scores 11.3 points per outing. Aidan Mahaney is the leading scorer with 14.4 points per game.
 
The ESPN2 game will have Dave Feldman and Ben Braun on the call. It can also be heard on Fox Sports AM 1280 with Zack Bayrouty as the voice.
 
NOTES
- The Tigers are going for their first win against Saint Mary's since an epic 107-99 quadruple overtime victory on Jan. 4, 2020. Pacific will look to avenge a defeat to the Gaels in the first meeting this season on the road.
 
- Pacific is 804-448 all-time at home and 341-215 in the Spanos Center.
 
- Pacific has posted a positive turnover margin in seven of nine WCC games this year.
 
- The Tigers are 5-2 this season when leading at half. In three seasons under head coach Leonard Perry, Pacific is 25-10 when leading at half, 22-12 when it makes more threes than the opposition and 6-0 when holding the opposition to under 60 points.
 
- Pacific is 3-1 this season in games decided by one possession (three points or less).
 
- Pacific's home game against Gonzaga on Jan. 27 was part of a national Coaches vs. Cancer Week initiative benefiting the American Cancer Society. The Pacific men's basketball staff wore Suits & Sneakers to raise awareness.
 
- Pacific's non-conference slate was highlighted by an 87-79 road victory over Cal on Nov. 10. It was the first win over Cal in 11 tries dating back to Dec. 10, 1954 when the Tigers won 82-77 in Berkeley 69 seasons ago. It was Pacific's first win over a Pac-12 opponent since Dec. 17, 1994 when it beat Oregon State at home 72-66.
 
- The Tigers have used 12 different starting lineups in 24 games this year.
