Tigers Sweep Vandals to Remain Perfect at Home

Box Score STOCKTON, Calif.- The Pacific men's tennis team swept Idaho 4-0 to maintain its undefeated record at home on Friday afternoon at the Eve Zimmerman Tennis Center.

The Tigers got the momentum rolling, clinching the doubles point to start the day. Senior Peter Alam and junior Justas Trainauskas returned to deliver a 6-2 decision on court one over Idaho's Alex Asenov and Sebastian Medica. The pair are now 3-1 together.

The Vandals struck back on court two, but senior Ran Amar and freshman Christof Schaertlin Coffey battled to a 7-6 (1) win on court three to put Pacific up 1-0 heading into its singles matches.

Sophomore Tiago Silva led off the singles victories, swiftly downing Matteo Masala 6-0, 6-0 on court two. Freshman Tommy Czaplinski collected his first collegiate singles win, defeating Asesnov 6-2, 6-3 on court six. Sophomore Terence Das rounded out the scoring for the Tigers after a 6-0, 6-2 decision on court four over Yu-Shun Lai. 

Das moved to a 4-0 mark in his singles matches this season, while Amar and Schaertlin Coffey also stayed perfect, improving to 2-0 as a doubles team.

Pacific returns tomorrow to the Eve Zimmerman Tennis Center to host Sacramento State at 2 p.m.
