STOCKTON, Calif. – Five student-athletes from the Pacific men's basketball program will be honored Saturday in a special pre-game ceremony before the Tigers host LMU in their home finale at 7 p.m. at the Alex G. Spanos Center.
Senior Day honorees include
Nick Blake,
Jalen Brown,
Cam Denson,
Lesown Hallums, Jr. and
Donovan Williams. Each will be accompanied by friends and family members.
Pacific (6-23, 0-14 WCC) is going for its fifth straight home win against LMU (10-17, 3-10 WCC). Last season, the Tigers won 78-72 as Blake poured in 23 points. Pacific is 16-12 all-time against the Lions at home.
The Tigers will look to avenge an 81-64 defeat to LMU in the first meeting this season on the road. Denson registered 15 points but the Lions used an 11-1 run midway through the second half to create separation. Pacific is 31-37 all-time against LMU dating back to 1953-54.
Denson is coming off a career-night of 23 points and 10 rebounds against Pepperdine on Wednesday. He became the first Tiger to make 10 field goals in a game this season.
Williams leads the team in scoring both on the season (9.9 ppg) and in conference play (11.9 ppg). He's registered three straight double-figure scoring games with 16 against both Santa Clara and Gonzaga, and 13 versus Pepperdine on Wednesday.
Senior
Judson Martindale is second on the team in scoring with 9.3 points per outing and shoots .386 from three-point range on the season and .419 in conference.
Over the last three home games, Brown is 12-of-18 (.667) from the field and 9-of-13 (.692) from three-point range. It included a career-high 17 points against the Toreros and he became the first Tiger to hit five three-pointers in a game this year.
Graduate
Greg Outlaw returned to the lineup last weekend against Santa Clara and Gonzaga after missing the previous four games due to illness. Since his return, he's 10-of-19 (.526) from the floor including 10 points at Santa Clara.
LMU is looking to snap a seven-game skid. The Lions rank second in the WCC in both three-point percentage (.357) and free throw percentage (.737). Dominick Harris is the league's top three-point shooter with a .436 percentage and averages a team-high 14.0 points per game, but did not play last night in a 65-55 defeat at Santa Clara.
Saturday's game can be watched on ESPN+ with Zack Bayrouty and Bob Thomason as talent, and can be heard on Fox Sports AM 1280 with Dennis Ackerman on the call.
