FULLERTON, Calif.- The Pacific softball team dropped two contests on Saturday evening, falling to Southern Utah 6-2 and host Cal State Fullerton 8-0 on the second day of the Easton Classic.
In the first game of the day, Pacific took on Southern Utah. The Tigers (1-3) pulled within two after a single from senior
Rian Dirmeyer brought in redshirt sophomore
Olivia Silvestre for the score at the bottom of the third. The Thunderbirds (2-1) scored their final three runs at the top of the fourth to go up 6-1. Sophomore
Jordan Hayes scored Pacific's lone run of the fourth inning, pulling the Tigers within four. Both teams went scoreless through the remainder of the game, making the final 6-2 at the end of seven innings.
Following shortly after, the Tigers prepared to take on host Cal State Fullerton (3-0). The Titans actively defended their home field, stumping the Tigers through six innings.
Silvestre leads all Tigers through the first four games with a .455 batting average and three runs. Senior
Reagan Hamilton leads with 4 RBI and ties Silvestre with a .545 slugging percentage.
Five pitchers have seen action in the past two days, with junior
Desiree Smith garnering two starts. Graduate student
Vanessa Strong got the go ahead nod against Cal State Fullerton for her first appearance this season.
Pacific returns to action tomorrow, Sunday, Feb. 11, for its final game of the Easton Classic. The Tigers take on Southern Utah once more with an 11:30 a.m. start.
