PORTLAND, Ore. – Playing in their final game before the Christmas Holiday, Pacific women's basketball heads to the Chiles Center to face Portland on Saturday afternoon at 3:30 p.m.
Under head coach
Bradley Davis, Pacific (5-6, 1-0 WCC) is 2-0 when playing its first road WCC game against against Portland (12-0, 1-0 WCC).
Saturday's match-up features two of the top teams in the country in forcing turnovers. Portland currently ranks as the 18th best team at forcing turnovers at 24/game with Pacific right behind at 29th and 22.09 forced per game.
The match-up also clashes an efficient offense against a stout defense. The Pilots have shot 50 percent or better in seven of their 11 games thus far, but Pacific has not allowed an opponent to reach 50 percent shooting in 20 straight contests dating back to last season.
Senior
Elizabeth Elliott enters as a player to watch as in her last four games she has set a new career-high in scoring (26 points vs. Houston), notched a double-double (19 points, 10 rebounds) against a now ranked California team, and shot 12-for-12 from the free throw line against UC Santa Barbara.
Elliott is eight points away from 1,200 in her career and one rebound away from 600. She would become the 15th Tiger in program history to reach the rebound milestone and the 17th for the scoring milestone.
Saturday's game in Portland can be seen on ESPN+.
