Pacific Treks to Mizzou for Friday Night Game

COLUMBIA, Mo. – Playing its second SEC opponent of the week, the Pacific men's basketball program travels to Missouri for a 4:30 p.m. (PT) contest at Mizzou Arena.

It's a battle of the Tigers as Pacific (3-3) will take on Mizzou (3-1) for the first time since 1971-72. It's the third-ever meeting between the two programs as Pacific won the first 84-68 on Dec. 23, 1966, but Mizzou won 64-54 on Dec. 10, 1971.

This game, as well as Pacific's home game against Arkansas-Pine Bluff on Nov. 27, are part of the Big Cat Classic - a men's basketball three-team event. The event is being organized by Russ Potts Productions Inc (RPPI).

Pacific is coming off a hard fought 91-72 defeat at No. 18 Arkansas. The Tigers hung around for much of the second half and trailed just 59-57 at the 12:57 to go. Sophomore Elijah Fisher and junior Lamar Washington played 40 minutes apiece. Fisher recorded a season-high 23 points on 8-of-10 shooting, while Washington poured in a career-high 19 points to go along with five rebounds and five assists.

Senior Elias Ralph has posted double-doubles in back-to-back games, becoming the first to do so at Pacific since Jordan Bell in 2020-21. Ralph tallied 12 points and 10 rebounds at Arkansas after recording 23 points and 11 rebounds against Northern Arizona.

Fisher and Ralph, both Canadians, average 17.7 points apiece. Both shoot over 50 percent from the floor and have scored in double-figures in all six games. Ralph also averages 7.8 rebounds per contest.

Mizzou opened the year with a tough 83-75 defeat but has since defeated Howard 77-62, Eastern Washington 84-77 and Mississippi Valley State 111-39. Mizzou scores 86.8 points per game and uses a balanced attack as it ranks top-five in the nation in bench scoring (44.5 ppg). The team shoots .511 from the field.

Friday's game can be watched live on SEC+ and can be heard on Fox Sports AM 1280 with Zack Bayrouty on the call.
