STOCKTON, Calif. – Pacific volleyball head coach
Greg Gibbons and his staff has announced six signees that will join the team for the 2025 season.
"I am very excited for this 2025 class. They are an extremely competitive group of volleyball student-athletes that have proven to be successful on the court and in the classroom. The addition of Mazi, Julia, Hannah, Bella, Adeline, and Chloe fill specific needs within our program and will help us on our journey for a conference championship. This is a very strong group that will help write the next chapters in our very storied traditions at Pacific," Gibbons said.
Julia Porath is a 6-1 opposite hitter from Katy, Texas, who will graduate from Katy Taylor High School in 2025 before joining the Tigers. She entered her senior season as a reigning first-team all-district selection to go alongside her District Newcomer of the Year honor she earned as a sophomore. Throughout her high school career, Porath has amassed 782 kills and 229 career blocks that culminated in helping her school become 2024 San Marcos Champions. Her accomplishments earned her spots on both the AVCA All-American Watchlist and GHVCA Preseason Watchlist.
Hannah Koester, out of Northfield High School in Northfield, Minnesota, signs with Pacific as a 5-11 outside hitter. Koester earned consecutive All-Conference and All-State honors in both her junior and senior seasons as a result in her role helping Northfield High School win its conference her sophomore, junior, and senior seasons. She ended her illustrious career with 846 career kills, 456 career digs, 78 career aces.
Mazi Smith is an outside hitter from Pampa High School in Pampa, Texas. The 6-2 signee comes to Pacific highly decorated, highlighted by being named conference Offensive Player of the Year in 2023. She also brought home a first-team all-conference honor as a freshman and two second team all-conference awards her sophomore and junior years. Inside the classroom Smith is in the top 10% of the National Honor Society.
Chloe Grever is a 5-11 middle blocker from Merced, California, who currently attends El Capitan High School. During her career, Grever was the recipient of many distinguished honors including a Central California Conference MVP Award this past season, Offensive Player of the Year in 2023, and first-team all-conference honors in both 2023 and 2024. A four-time winner of the Central California Conference, Grever compiled 360 kills, 79 blocks, 183 digs, and 45 aces during her four years.
Bella Gutierrez joins Pacific from St. Mary's High School in Manteca, California. The 5-2 incoming freshman has played libero for her school the past four years where she has contributed to sectional wins in 2023-24 and 2024-25 alongside a State Championship semifinals appearance in 2022-23. Gutierrez has compiled over 500 digs in her career and is a three-time letter winner at St. Mary's
Adeline Sirbu hails from Palatine, Illinois, where she attended Buffalo Grove High School and played as a middle hitter on her school volleyball team. Sirbu set the single season block record at her high school. Off the court, Sirbu is a member of the National Honor Society, Spanish National Honors Society, and reached the Mock Trial State Tournament.
The six incoming athletes will report for the first time over the summer of 2025.
