Men’s Soccer Set for Non-Conference Test at No. 2 Stanford

STANFORD, Calif. – The Pacific men's soccer team closes out its non-conference slate with a Monday road match against No. 2 Stanford at 7 pm at Maloney Field.

The Tigers (2-6-3, 0-3-1 WCC) take a break from West Coast Conference action and prepare for the Cardinal (8-2-3, 3-0-3 ACC), who are playing in their first season in the Atlantic Coast Conference.

Freshman Ezekiel Padilla and fifth year Vinzent Zingel set the pace for the Pacific offense with two goals apiece. Padilla has two goals in his last three games and leads the Tigers with 17 shot attempts.

Senior Joshua Moya has started every game in goal for Pacific this season, sporting a 1.45 goals against average and three non-conference shutouts in 2024. The native of Gilroy, California has totaled 47 saves this season, including a season-high 10 saves in the season-opening 1-0 victory over UC Davis.

Junior Luca Baltzer has played every minute on the pitch, nearing the 1,000-minute mark with 990 to his name. Baltzer is tied for third on the team in scoring with a goal and an assist through 11 games.

The Cardinal recently had a setback against WCC member San Francisco on Thursday, falling 2-0 on the road. Stanford is 5-2-0 during its non-conference portion of the year. The Cardinal have a pair of players tied for the team lead in goals (4) and points (11).

Pacific and Stanford meet for the ninth time in the series history. The Tigers won on the road in the Bay Area in 2018, claiming a 1-0 victory.

The game will be broadcast live on ESPN+ with a kick-off set for 7 pm.
