James Earns Preseason All-Conference Recognition, Tigers Predicted to Place Fifth

LAS VEGAS – After earning 2023-24 All-Conference First-Team honors, senior Anaya James was distinguished on the 2024-25 Preseason All-West Coast Conference Team on Wednesday at WCC Media Day.

The Tigers were predicted to finish in fifth-place in the league's Preseason Coaches Poll.

James was the lone Tiger to start in all 34 games last season and averaged 12.1 points and led the conference in assists with 5.9 per outing. She notched 25 double-figure scoring games and four 20-point scoring performances.

James, who was also named to the 2023-24 WCC All-Tournament Team, is one of three 1,000-point scorers to return in 2024-25 along with seniors Liz Smith and Elizabeth Elliott. The trio have played their entire careers at Pacific and have combined for 3,143 points.

The Tigers are coming off a year where they advanced to the second round of the Women's National Invitation Tournament for the first time since 2012 after defeating Cal Poly in the opening round 63-43 at home. Pacific posted its best winning percentage at home since 2012-13 with a 12-5 (.706) mark.

The season begins Monday, Nov. 4 when the Tigers host Stanislaus State at 11 a.m. in the Alex G. Spanos Center.
