STOCKTON, Calif. – The Pacific women's soccer program continues West Coast Conference play, welcoming in No. 15 Pepperdine to Knoles Field at 7 pm Saturday.
The Tigers (2-10-1, 0-3 WCC) had a setback on the road against Portland in a 3-1 decision but look to use the home crowd to their advantage against the Waves (8-2-3, 2-0-1 WCC).
"Our group is ready to get back at it at home tomorrow evening and we are looking forward to the next WCC challenge," co-head coach
J.J. Wozniak said. "Wednesday night was competitive and intense. Training has been spirited since then. The players are excited for another opportunity to compete this Saturday night!"
Junior
Alexis Pashales and freshman
Sierah McCallum pace the Tigers in scoring with four goals apiece. Pashales scored her fourth goal of the season last Wednesday, giving her a team-best 19 shot attempts in a team-high 1,030 minutes on the pitch.
Graduate student
Taylor Curtis has just one goal, but is second on the Tigers with 14 shot attempts. The native of North Highlands, California scored in the season opener against Houston Christian and dished out an assist on McCallum's game-winner at UC San Diego.
Freshman
Sierra Schwarz has started the last seven contests for Pacific, totaling 58 saves on the season, which ranks second in the WCC. Schwarz set a WCC record with a 20-save performance at Utah State earlier this year.
Pepperdine enters Saturday's contest with a pair of WCC wins against Washington State and at Gonzaga. Recently, the Waves earned a 1-1 draw at home with Santa Clara. Tori Waldeck leads the Waves with six goals on 15 shots on goal.
Pacific and Pepperdine meet for the 15th time in the series history going back to 1993. The Tigers fell 2-1 on the road last year in Malibu, California. Pashales scored the Tigers' goal in that 2023 contest.
The match will be broadcast live on ESPN+ with Dennis Ackerman on the call.
