PORTLAND, Ore. – In its first West Coast Conference road game of the year, the Pacific men's basketball program will take the court Saturday against Portland in a 5 p.m. game at the Chiles Center.

The Tigers (6-10, 0-1 WCC) are looking to shake off a tough 92-88 overtime defeat to San Francisco on Thursday in the WCC. Pacific led 78-73 with 1:13 remaining in regulation, but San Francisco was able to come back and tie it with 10 seconds left and prevailed in overtime. The Dons entered the game as the highest ranked team from the WCC in the NCAA Net Rankings at No. 39 nationally.

Senior
Lesown Hallums, Jr. poured in a career-high 25 points against the Dons. He was a scorching 9-of-11 from the field and 3-of-4 from long range.

With 19 points and 10 assists against USF, sophomore
Moe Odum became the first Pacific student-athlete to submit a double-double in points and assists since Pierre Crockrell II posted 10 points and 10 assists against Portland on Feb. 13, 2020.

Odum ranks first in the WCC in assist:turnover ratio with a 2.6 mark, is second in assists with 4.8 per game and is top-five in steals with 1.4 per outing. He's reached double-figures in assists four times in his career and twice this season.

Senior
Nick Blake has provided a spark for Pacific since his return. After missing the first 11 games of the year, he's come back to average a team-high 11.6 points per outing and has scored in double-figures in each of the last four.

As a team, the Tigers rank third in the West Coast Conference in steals with 7.3 per game. They grabbed a season-high 14 against Cal Maritime.

Saturday will be the WCC opener for Portland (6-9, 0-0 WCC), which has non-conference wins over Long Beach State, UC Riverside, Wyoming and North Dakota. Senior Tyler Robertson, a two-time All-WCC guard, leads the team and ranks third in the conference in scoring with 16.3 points per game, and is also fourth in the league in assists (3.9 apg).

- Pacific is 31-15 all-time against Portland and 11-10 on the road. The two teams split a pair of meetings last season, each winning at home. The most recent game was an 81-77 victory for the Tigers in Stockton on on Feb. 25, 2023.

- The Tigers have been without senior
Judson Martindale the last two games who averages 10.5 points per outing. He shoots .800 (24-30) from the free throw line and also leads the team in 3FGM with 21. Martindale poured in a season-high 21 points at Northern Arizona.

- The Tigers are 5-1 this season when leading at half and 5-2 when they record a positive turnover margin. In three seasons under head coach
Leonard Perry, Pacific is 22-12 when it makes more threes than the opposition, 25-9 when leading at half and 6-0 when holding the opposition to under 60 points.

- Pacific's non-conference slate was highlighted by an 87-79 road victory over Cal on Nov. 10. It was the first win over Cal in 11 tries dating back to Dec. 10, 1954 when the Tigers won 82-77 in Berkeley 69 seasons ago. It was Pacific's first win over a Pac-12 opponent since Dec. 17, 1994 when it beat Oregon State at home 72-66.
