MORAGA, Calif. – Going up against the first-place team on the road, the Pacific men's basketball program heads to Saint Mary's for an 8 p.m. tip Thursday at the University Credit Union Pavilion.
Pacific (6-14, 0-5 WCC) will play its fourth road game in five outings. The Tigers have the opportunity to not only pick up their first conference win but also hand the Gaels (14-6, 5-0 WCC) their first conference loss of the season.
Senior
Judson Martindale leads the Tigers in scoring with 10.4 points per game. He's coming off a 14-point performance against Santa Clara. Martindale shots .389 from three-point range and has nailed a team-high 28 threes on the year.
In conference games, senior
Donovan Williams averages team-highs of 12.2 points and 6.0 rebounds per game. He's scored in double-figures in five consecutive games.
Sophomore
Moe Odum, who is coming off a season-high 21 points against Santa Clara, ranks second in the West Coast Conference in both assists (4.8 apg) and assist:turnover ratio (2.6). With 19 points and 10 assists against San Francisco, he became the first student-athlete at Pacific to submit a double-double in points and assists since Pierre Crockrell II posted 10 points and 10 assists against Portland on Feb. 13, 2020.
Saint Mary's enters play ranked No. 22 in the NCAA Net Rankings, the highest in the West Coast Conference. The Gaels are on a six-game winning streak and are coming off a 77-60 road victory at San Francisco.
Saint Mary's allows just 58.7 points per game to lead the league in scoring defense. They also rank first in the conference in field goal defense (.390), offensive rebounding (14.5 orpg) and blocks (4.6 bpg). The Gaels have used the same starting lineup in all 20 games with Aidan Mahaney leading the scoring with 14.7 points per outing.

- The Tigers are going for their first win at Saint Mary's since Dec. 9, 1989.
- Pacific has made more free throws than the opposition and posted a positive turnover margin in four of five WCC games this year.
- The Tigers are 5-1 this season when leading at half. In three seasons under head coach
Leonard Perry, Pacific is 25-9 when leading at half, 22-12 when it makes more threes than the opposition and 6-0 when hold the opposition to under 60 points.
- Pacific is 3-1 this season in games decided by one possession (three points or less).
- In the WCC opener against San Francisco, senior
Lesown Hallums, Jr. poured in a career-high 25 points and was a scorching 9-of-11 from the field and 3-of-4 from long range.
- Pacific's non-conference slate was highlighted by an 87-79 road victory over Cal on Nov. 10. It was the first win over Cal in 11 tries dating back to Dec. 10, 1954 when the Tigers won 82-77 in Berkeley 69 seasons ago. It was Pacific's first win over a Pac-12 opponent since Dec. 17, 1994 when it beat Oregon State at home 72-66.
- The Tigers have used 11 different starting lineups in 20 games this year.
