Tigers Sweep Seattle for First Win of 2024

Box Score EUGENE, Ore. - Pacific men's tennis collected its first win of the 2024 season, downing Seattle 7-0 in Eugene. 
 
The Tigers captured both wins in doubles behind a 6-2 decision by Pacific tandem junior Justas Trainauskas and senior Peter Alam. Sophomores Terence Das and Tiago Silva clinched the doubles point for the Tigers with a 6-2 decision over the Redhawks.
 
Silva and Das added two more points for the Tigers, each swiftly handling the Redhawks in singles. Das, at the five, cruised past Seattle's Michael Frank 6-1, 6-0. Silva moved past Ristarski 6-2, 6-0 at the three. 
 
Alam and Trainauskas, playing at the one and two respectively, each clinched two more points for Pacific after earning victories in three sets. Alam bested Julian Worn 2-6, 7-5, 6-2 while Trainauskas took down Jun Sasagawa 6-3, 3-6, 7-5.
 
Battling at the four and six were seniors Ran Amar and Andre Rodeia. Rodeia collected the 6-1, 6-4 victory over Yu-Han Hsieh and Amar defeated Veselin Kiselkov 6-1, 6-4 to round out the scoring for the Tigers.
 
Pacific returns to action tomorrow to take on host Oregon at 10 a.m. at the Student Tennis Center in Eugene.
