Senior Lesown Hallums, Jr. has stood out in conference games with a team-high 14.5 points per game. He poured in a career-high 25 points against USF and was a scorching 9-of-11 from the field and 3-of-4 from long range.

Pepperdine (7-10, 0-2 WCC), which is guided by the league's leading scorer in Michael Ajayi (17.6 ppg/9.8 rpg), fell to Gonzaga 86-80 on the road before dropping a home tilt 78-72 to Santa Clara. The Waves submitted non-conference wins over Lafayette, LIU, Idaho State, UC San Diego and William & Mary.

LMU (7-9, 0-2 WCC) was topped by Santa Clara 68-57 and Saint Mary's 68-64 to begin league play. The Lions defeated Jackson State, FIU, UTEP, Central Arkansas, UNLV and Detroit Mercy in non-conference play. Dominick Harris leads the team in scoring (13.9 ppg) and ranks first in the WCC in threes made per game with 2.5 while shooting .430 from long range.
