Fort Collins, Colo. – The Pacific volleyball team came back from dropping the opening set to win in five over Bowling Green in Friday's opening day of the Ram Volleyball Classic at Colorado State.
It was the fifth win in a row for the Tigers, improving the season record to 5-2, whereas the Falcons fell to 4-4. Pacific won by a 16-25, 25-19, 25-20, 27-29, 15-10 margin. After a -.105 hitting percentage in the first set, Pacific came back to hit .192 for the remainder of the match.

Greg Gibbons said following the match, "It was a huge team win against a top team. It was a great effort by every one of our players. They fought hard and I am proud of how hard they played each point. Now, it's onto the next match."
In the win,
Alexa Edwards and
Biamba Kabengele had 14 and 12 kills, respectively to pace the attack. Edwards added 10 digs for a double double to go along with six blocks in the win. Kabengele added three service aces in the win, plus
Jenna Heller set the attack for most of the match with a team-best 24 assists.
In the decisive fifth set, Pacific found itself behind to BGSU, 8-4 before a decisive 7-0 run put the Tigers ahead for the first time since 1-0 and the rest of the set. In the run, Pacific was led by a pair of kills by
Darina Kumanova and three hitting errors by the Falcons.
Next, Pacific will take on host Colorado State on Saturday at 12:30 p.m. (PST)/1:30 p.m. (MT).
