STOCKTON, Calif.- The Pacific women's tennis team heads to California for a three-day invitational this weekend in Berkeley, Calif. Six will represent the Tigers through the duration.
After getting their feet wet last week in the Battle in the Bay, senior
Klara Kosan and junior
Tomi Main return for more action in the Bay Area. Kosan collected two wins in singles through the first two days of competition. While competing with Main, the two were competitive and look to do the same through this weekend.
The two met a year prior in the same event, having advanced to the finals in the singles consolation draw. In the all-Pacific final, Kosan defeated teammate Main (6-3, 3-6, 10-5).
They'll be joined by juniors
Megan Carmichael,
Alexis Sam, and
Zara Fung. Both Sam and Fung competed in last year's event, so both will seek to build upon their respective successes from a year prior. A new addition in freshman
Leyanne Hirota, will be making her debut for the Tigers, having just joined the program this offseason.
All will be competing for the doubles and singles titles up for grabs. The California Invitational takes place at the Hellman Tennis Complex and Channing Tennis Courts in Berkeley. Action at the Hellman Tennis Complex has a live stream available, so to keep up with the Tigers click
