Tigers Return After Competitive Battle in the Bay

STOCKTON, Calif.- The Pacific women's tennis team returns from San Francisco after competing in this past weekend's Battle in the Bay. The tournament was the fall season opener for the team and saw senior Klara Kosan and junior Tomi Main representing the Tigers.

Main and Kosan took to the round of 16 for the main draw of the women's doubles where they met Fresno State tandem Misaki Kobayashi and Mariia Vyshkina. The Tigers fought tough against the Bulldogs but fell 8-3.

Both Tigers returned for the women's singles main draw in the round of 32. Main faced Georgia's Dasha Vidmanova to start the afternoon off for the Tigers but fell 6-2, 6-0. She would move on to the consolation the following day.

Kosan once again found herself battling Fresno State's Kobayashi. The Tiger wound up on top after taking down Kobayashi 7-5, 6-4.

On Friday, Kosan opened the day for Pacific, meeting Georgia's Aysegul Mert in the round of 16. After some hard fought battles, the senior just missed the quarterfinal, falling 6-1, 6-4.
Later in the afternoon, Main returned for more action, taking on Yelizaveta Karlova from VCU. The junior narrowly missed the consolation quarterfinal after taking the second set, but she fell 6-3, 6-4, 10-4.

Early Saturday for the extra doubles matches, Main and Kosan teamed up to take on TCU's Helena Narmont and Margaret Polk. They kept close to the Horned Frog duo but were edged out 6-4.
