Women's Soccer Seeks to Extend Winning Streak to Three

STOCKTON, Calif. – The Pacific women's soccer team will look to extend its winning streak to three when they travel to Las Cruces, N.M. to face New Mexico State on Sunday.

The Tigers are riding a wave of momentum after a 3-1 win over Oregon State on Thursday in adverse weather conditions. The 3-1 win avenged a 1-1 tie from last year on August 28 and the program's first over a Pac 12 foe since a 1-0 win over Oregon on September 7, 2012.

Also, in the game, Alexis Pashales scored twice in a span of just under three minutes as Pacific had games with back-to-back two goal efforts for the first time in program history based on information available. The two-goal effort by Pashales comes on the heels of a two-goal effort by Jaida Nyby in a 3-1 win over UC Santa Barbara.

It has not just been the offense for the Tigers, Libby Davy has made 20 saves through the first five games, including eight saves after facing 20 shots against the Beavers on Thursday.

New Mexico State, who recorded a 0-0 tie against Incarnate Word on Thursday, enters the contest with a 2-2-1 mark. The Aggies have scored five goals in its first five games. NMSU was picked to finish second in Conference USA and are led by preseason conference Offensive Playe of the Year pick, Lorna McNeese. She was joined on the preseason all-conference team by Mya Hammack and Bianca Chacon for a team that reached that the 2022 NCAA Tournament.
