Tigers Downed by Aggies at Home

STOCKTON, Calif. – Pacific baseball (13-29) dropped a Tuesday evening contest to UC Davis (15-25). The Tigers scored once in the ninth, but it was not enough as the Aggies took the 8-1 win.

Graduate Jeremy Lea led the team with two hits. Freshman Kaden Petersen had the team's only RBI. Junior Chaz Myers walked twice.

Senior Grant Stevens started the game and pitched 3.0 innings of two-hit baseball. Usually, the Friday starter, Stevens, got the rock today with no games on the slate this weekend for the Tigers. Freshman Caden Casagrande and sophomore Jarryd Wood pitched 2+ innings; Casagrande struck out a team-high three batters.

Both teams cruised through the first three innings with just four hits between the two squads. UC Davis added five in the fourth inning on five hits to take a quick lead.

One in the seventh and two in the ninth, and the Aggies had an 8-0 lead heading into the bottom of the ninth.

Sophomore Andrew Guidara singled to start the bottom of the ninth. Junior John-Howard Bobo traded places with him after a fielder's choice. Bobo advanced to second and scored on a single from Petersen. Pacific could not bring another run, and UC Davis took the 8-1 win.
