LOS ANGELES – Pacific baseball (14-33, 6-19) battled until the end with the best team in the conference, LMU (27-22, 19-6), in a 3-2 final. A classic pitcher's duel, both starters went the distance.

Jeremy Lea led Pacific at the plate, collecting two hits with one RBI and a home run. Freshman
Jack Metcho had two hits and a double, freshman
Peyton Miller drove in a run on a hit and freshman
Jake Tandy hit a double.
Grant Stevens pitched his third complete game, striking out seven in 8.0 innings while walking just two.
The Lions took the early lead, getting to Stevens in the second and third innings. LMU scored twice in the second and once in the third.
Miller started the scoring for Pacific in the sixth, with a single up the middle to bring in Metcho.
Lea homered to left center in the seventh, bringing the deficit to just one. Pacific had two runners in scoring position with one out in the top of the ninth, but two strikeouts from the top pitcher in the WCC ended the game for the Tigers.
The two teams will be back in action tomorrow. The first pitch will be at 6 p.m.
