STOCKTON, Calif. – A total of 74 student-athletes from all 17 athletic programs walked across the stage with degrees in hand on Saturday, May 13, when University of the Pacific held its 2023 spring commencement ceremonies across campus.
 
Led by 33 College of the Pacific graduates, student-athletes represented five of the nine colleges and schools at Pacific. Benerd College, Eberhardt School of Business, School of Health Sciences, and School of Engineering and Computers Science also held ceremonies for student-athletes during commencement. 
 
Vanessa Strong from the softball team and Avery Whipple from the men's soccer team held the highest grade-point averages among the graduating student-athletes. Strong graduated with a Master's in Health, Exercise, and Sport Science and a 4.0 cumulative grade-point average.
 
Whipple finished his academic career with a 3.98 cumulative grade-point average with a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences with a minor in Sociology.
