Pacific started hot, scoring four runs in the first inning with an RBI double from Lea and a two-run home run from Weiss. Petersen wrapped up the scoring with an RBI single to right. A grand slam for Pepperdine evened the score in the top of the second, with the Waves taking the lead moments later with two sacrifice flies.
A Myers groundout would bring one back in the bottom of the third, but that was as close as the Tigers would get. The Waves scored four more in the top of the fourth to reach ten runs.
Pacific would add one in the fourth and one in the ninth, but more was needed to keep pace with the Waves, who scored six runs in that span.
The two teams will meet for the rubber game tomorrow. The first pitch will be at 1:00 p.m.
