SAN DIEGO, Calif. – The Pacific softball team dropped the final game of the three-game series, falling to San Diego, 1-0, Sunday afternoon at the USD Softball Complex.
"It was our best played game of the week and unfortunately we felt short," Head Coach
Brian Kolze said after the game. "Hannah and Avery were tremendous pitching, defense was great. The problem is we just spread our hits out and we couldn't piece them together."
The Tigers (9-21, 0-6) recorded a game-high seven hits throughout the contest, outhitting the Toreros (18-23-1, 4-2) by one.
Delaney Scully led the team with two hits, the sixth multi-hit game of the season.
Allie Capello,
Kyla Eck,
Reagan Hamilton,
Jordan Hayes, and
Asia Lee collected hits to propel the Tigers offensively.
The Toreros grabbed the lead in the third inning on a Mikalyn Emanuelli RBI single and held on for their third straight win.
Hannah Glad earned the start in the circle and pitched five strong innings, allowing only one run on six hits.
Avery Croxall closed the game with one strikeout in one inning of work.
Pacific returns to action on Saturday, April 22, when it travels to Santa Clara for a West Coast Conference doubleheader at the Santa Clara Softball Stadium.
