STOCKTON, Calif. – Pacific baseball (7-12, 1-3) fell behind early to Portland (14-7, 4-0) and, despite scoring late, could not keep up with the high-powered Pilots offense in a 19-4 final.

Jack Metcho collected two hits and drove in two runs. Freshmen

Tony Otis both drove in runs. Otis scored twice.

Cooper Lanz started the game and pitched 4.0 innings with two strikeouts and five walks. Freshman
Jake Tandy was the only Pacific pitcher not to allow a run, striking out two in his 1.0 inning of work.
Portland scored five times in the first four innings, once in the second and third innings and three times in the fourth. Metcho put Pacific on the board in the bottom of the fifth with a single to the shortstop, bringing in Otis.
The Pilots opened the game up in the sixth and seventh innings, scoring 11 runs in two innings and pulling away for good from Pacific.
Otis and Metcho brought in runs for Pacific in the bottom of the seventh with a fielder's choice and a single through the left side.
Evans brought in one more run in the bottom of the eighth, but Pacific could not put together a comeback.
Pacific is back tomorrow against Portland. The first pitch will be at 3 p.m.
