STOCKTON, Calif. – Pacific Baseball (5-7) opened its weekend series against CSUN (7-3) with a come-from-behind win, scoring twice in the eighth inning to take a 4-2 victory.
Currently, the game tomorrow is scheduled to start at 11 a.m., with a second game starting 45 minutes after the conclusion of the first.

Ben Nemivant both collected two hits and drove in one run. Sophomore
Andrew Guidara drove in two runs on one hit, and freshman
Peyton Miller scored two runs.
Freshman
Cooper Lanz started the game and struck out five hitters in 5.0 innings pitched. Senior
Tyler Stout pitched four innings in relief and allowed only one hit while striking out three and picking up his second win.
A double in the first inning from Weiss put two runners in scoring position early. Guidara brought home the first run of the game on an RBI groundout. The Matadors responded in the top of the fourth inning with a sacrifice fly to center and a bases-loaded walk to take the 2-1 lead.
Both pitching staffs showed out as the middle innings cruised by without any scoring. Even when the offenses were able to get runners on base, the pitchers were able to lock in and keep the game 2-1.
Pacific tied the game in the seventh inning with a two-out RBI single from Nemivant, bringing the Tigers back to even with the Matadors. Pacific recorded two quick outs in the bottom of the eighth before Miller reached on a throwing error by the CSUN shortstop gave Pacific life. Weiss hit his second double of the game off the top of the left-center wall to score Miller and give Pacific the lead. The Tigers got an insurance run as Guidara singled, bringing Weiss home to an ecstatic dugout.
Stout returned in the ninth inning and pitched a 1-2-3 inning to finish off CSUN and secure the win.
The two teams are back on the diamond tomorrow for a scheduled doubleheader. The first pitched is scheduled to be at 11 a.m.
