Pacific Falls to UNLV

LAS VEGAS, Nev. - The Pacific baseball team (0-3) scored four runs late, but it was not enough as UNLV (3-0) finished the season-opening series with a 31-8 win.

Sophomore Andrew Guidara led Pacific at the plate, collecting three hits and driving in two runs. Freshman Caden Casagrande scored two runs. Graduate Senior Ben Nemivant and freshman Rylan Evans added two hits for the Tigers.

Sophomore Owen McWilliam pitched 1.2 scoreless innings in relief for the Tigers.

A Guidara single put Pacific on the board in the second inning bringing home junior Jacob Weiss. An RBI groundout from freshman Tony Otis brought home the second run of the game in the sixth inning for Pacific.

A Guidara double in the eighth inning scored Evans and put two runners into scoring position. An error from the UNLV third baseman brought home the second run of the inning. Freshman Kaden Petersen singled to right center to bring home two more runs on another UNLV error to bring the Tiger's total runs to six on the day.

UNLV scored in every inning except for the seventh.

Pacific is back home next weekend for its home opener against Milwaukee.
