FLAGSTAFF, Ariz.—Pacific women's basketball (5-4) was held off by Northern Arizona (5-3), 96-65, on Wednesday.
Four Tigers scored in double figures. Junior
Anaya James led the way with 16 points and eight rebounds while matching her season-high eight assists and career-high three blocks. The Inglewood Calif. native also posted a perfect six-of-six from the free-throw line. Junior
Elizabeth Elliott notched 14 points, while senior
Liz Smith had 12. Senior
Kadie Deaton finished with 10 points.
Pacific had a 7-4 lead in the first two minutes of the contest. It was erased by a three from Northern Arizona that ignited an 11-3 run. The Lumberjacks led at the end of the first quarter, 23-18.
Northern Arizona remained in the lead for good the rest of the way as it outscored Pacific in the next three quarters by a combined 73-47.
The Lumberjacks was accurate from the field, shooting 32-of-69 (46.4%) overall. Northern Arizona was also 11-of-20 (55.0%) from the three-point line and 21-of-25 (84.0%) at the free-throw line. The Tigers were held to just 23-of-67 (34.3%) in shooting, 3-of-11 (27.3%) behind the arc and 16-of-22 (72.7%) at the charity stripe.
