Pacific Hosts Cal Maritime for Education Day

STOCKTON, Calif – Pacific women's basketball is back in action at home as it hosts Cal Maritime for Education Day on at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Alex G. Spanos Center.
 
The game will be broadcast on ESPN+ with Don Gubbins and Dennis Ackerman on the call.
 
Pacific (7-4) is coming off a 90-86 win at Long Beach State on Saturday. Junior Elizabeth Elliott led the way with a career-high 25 points while grabbing six rebounds and matching her career-high four assists for the third time. The Tigers also garnered double-figure scoring performances from graduate student Cecilia Holmberg (18), senior Liz Smith (16) and junior Anaya James (13). Senior Kadie Deaton notched a career-high five steals and sophomore Lauren Glazier swatted a career-high three blocks.
 
Smith is Pacific's leading scorer with 15.5 points per game. The Dallas native is shooting 47-of-120 (.392) overall with 15-of-55 (.273) at the three-point line and a team-leading 61-of-70 (.871) at the free-throw line. Smith currently leads the West Coast Conference in free throws made and attempted.
 
Elliott was recently named the WCC Player of the Week on Monday for her performance against the Beach. The Inglewood, California native is currently leading the Tigers with 6.7 rebounds per game and is second in points with 14.8 per game.
 
James is scoring 11.8 points per game and is averaging a team-leading 4.6 assists per game. Deaton and Holmberg are posting 10.9 and 10.0 points per game, respectively. Deaton is also leading Pacific with 1.3 steals per game.
 
The Tigers meet Cal Maritime (0-8) for the second time overall and first since 2014. When the two teams first met, Pacific won the contest on a score of 70-23 at the Spanos Center.
 
The Tigers are 5-1 when playing NAIA schools, including 4-0 under head coach Bradley Davis.
 
Alicia Porter leads the Keelhaulers with 14.6 points, 9.9 rebounds and 0.5 blocks per game. Alysia Santos is recording 11.0 points per game while leading Cal Maritime with 3.5 assists per game. Anika Carey is the third leading scorer, posting 10.5 points per game. She is also the team leader in steals with 1.6 per game.
 
Pacific will have a few days off during the Christmas break before returning to the Spanos Center to play its final game of 2023. The Tigers will host Columbia for their New Year's Eve game at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 31.
