STOCKTON, Calif. - After a close game against Lamar over the weekend, the Pacific men's basketball team (2-3) returned for more home court action, taking on North Dakota (3-1) at the Alex G. Spanos Center on Monday evening. While it was another close game for the Tigers, a wild game winner as time expired wasn't in the cards and Pacific fell 73-71.

Four Tigers tallied double-digit scoring efforts in Monday's contest. Senior guard
Donovan Williams led the Tigers with 19 points and nine rebounds, shooting 7-8 from the floor and 4-5 from beyond the arc for a new career-high made threes in a game. He recorded a steal, a block and three assists.

Senior forward
Judson Martindale added 13 points for the Tigers, shooting 5-9 from the floor. Junior guard
Cam Denson had 10 points and five rebounds, going 4-6 from the floor. Redshirt junior
Burke Smith scored 12 points off the bench for Pacific and pulled in four rebounds. He ended the night 6-9 from the floor.Â

Sophomore guard
Moe Odum led the Pacific offense with seven assists, while also putting up eight points for the Tigers. Junior guard
Tyler Beard had six assists for a season high and four rebounds.Â

After putting up 15 points on Saturday against Lamar, Martindale led the Tigers through the first half with nine points. He shot 4-7 from the floor in the first half. Smith scored eight points off the bench for Pacific, shooting 4-5 from the floor.

Williams sparked a run for the Tigers in the final two minutes before the break. He scored eight straight points for Pacific, including a three and a three-point play. Williams went a perfect 3-3 from the floor and 1-1 from three in the first half.

Pacific shot 57.1 percent to North Dakota's 43.8 percent through the first twenty minutes, while shooting 2-5 from deep, but the Tigers went into the half tied 35-35.

The Tigers led by as many as eight in the second half, before the Fighting Hawks tied it up again with ten minutes to play. A couple of free throws from Martindale put the Tigers back on top, but Pacific struggled to pull away. A Williams three as the shot clock expired gave the Tigers back the lead with under six minutes left in the game.

When Pacific would gain momentum, the Fighting Hawks fought right back. The Tigers led by one with a minute left on the clock, until two made free throws put North Dakota back on top. North Dakota closed the final sixty seconds on a 5-2 run to beat the Tigers by two at home.

While the Tigers outshot the Fighting Hawks, North Dakota had the edge from the charity stripe, hitting six more free throws than Pacific. Pacific ended the evening shooting a .527 field goal percentage and a .429 three-point percentage.Â

The Tigers return to action at the Alex G. Spanos Center the day after Thanksgiving as they host Le Moyne on Friday, Nov. 24 at 7 p.m. as part of the Golden State Hoops Jam.
